It was a beautiful day. The academy students were laughing and playing with each other. This was one of the many things she missed about the village. She walked toward the village gate, bracing herself for what has changed for the time she was gone.She was only actually supposed to be gone for a year, but decided to stay for nine instead. She had gotten stronger, much stronger.
"There it is...the Hidden Leaf gate..." She whispered as she walked through it and saw two familar faces at the gate sitting down.
"Welcome to the Hidden Leaf Villa--" They both stopped in the middle of their sentence.
"It's....You?" One said.
"You're alive!" The other said.
"Kanetsu!!!" They both said at the same time.
"It's been awhile, Kotetsu, Izumo." She said smiling.They were both looking at her, analyzing how much she changed.
"Wow,you look...different." Kotetsu stated.
"Yeah, I guess so." She responded. "So, how are you guys?"
"We're doing fine. And yourself?" Izumo asked.
"Same as always." Kanetsu responded, stretching her arms in a tired manner. "So anyway, I have to go see the Hokage. We have to talk about some things." They both nodded.
"We'll leave you to it, then." Kotetsu responded.
"See you around." Izumo said, waving. Kanetsu began walking toward the Hokage's mansion.
"See ya then." She said as she walked off.
It took a while, but at last, she was there. Kanetsu just hoped there wasn't a giant line of people that had to speak with the Hokage today. The jounin Kunoichi approached the entrance. A ninja was standing at the entrance, but Kanetsu told him she had business to take care of with the Hokage, and pointed to her headband with Konoha's symbol on it. He nodded and granted her entrance.
"Follow me then. I'll escort you to Lady Hokage's office." He replied. Lady Hokage? You mean there's a new Hokage now? She thought. Kanetsu briefly looked up before entering and saw a female face on the Hokage mountainside. She recognized the face immediately. I-is that who I think it is?
Finally, she was escorted up to the office of the Hokage. She stood their nervously, wondering if the Hokage was going to scold her for an unexpected visit.
"Lady Tsunade, there's someone who wants to see you." The male ninja told her. Tsunade sighed.
"Ok, bring 'em in." She replied. Her hands were folded underneath her chin, as she prepared to see who would walk through that door and what they would want.
Kanetsu walked into her office, and Tsunade looked at her, then signaled for the other ninja to leave. Tsunade smiled.
"Kanetsu? Kanetsu Hyuga? Is that really you?" She asked, still smiling.
"Yep." Kanetsu nodded. Tsunade put her hands behind her head and relaxed. It was anyone trying to collect her gambling debts, so everything was ok. Plus it was Kanetsu, someone who she was friends with.
"So, you're not dead, eh?" Tsunade asked her. Kanetsu's eyes widened in surprise.
"Um, dead? Who thought I was dead? I just wanted to train for a little longer." She said, laughing a little at the last sentence. Tsunade laughed aswell.
"Well, you were gone for almost a decade instead of just one little year. So everyone thought the only explanation was that you were dead." She explained to her. Kanetsu just laughed.
"Anyway, I understand that you are without a home and currently a job...correct?" Tsunade asked Kanetsu. She nodded. "Well then...Give me a minute or two to think about this." Tsunade told her. Kanetsu complied, and sat there quietly for a while.
About thirty minutes later, after thinking about all the possiblites, Tsunade remembered one important detail that had somewhat of a contribution to her decision. She had seen Kanetsu stare at somebody an odd way a long time ago. At first, Tsunade had no idea what kind of look it was. But she gave it a bit more thought before guessing what that look meant.
Tsunade smiled unknowningly, and Kanetsu looked at her, wondering what she was thinking about. She's very good at hiding her emotions, it's no wonder why she's well known as such an enigma. She thought. But...I think I can take a good guess at what that look meant. If I'm correct, and I do this for her, I think she can finally be happy instead of depressed. Tsunade continued thinking.
"It's settled then!" She said aloud. Kanetsu looked over to her as she suddenly spoke out loud. The kunoichi looked at the Hokage, waiting for her final decision to be spoken. "Luckily, I have already requested this person to come here earlier, but as usual, he's late." Tsunade mumbled the last part of her sentence. She actually had to give somebody else that mission since he never showed up. Kanetsu wondered who she was talking about. Late?
Suddenly, the door opened, and a man walked in with messy, tall sliver hair and regular Konoha attire. He was reading a green book. In fact, he never even took his eyes off the book the entire time. Tsunade looked at him with an irritated face, but slowly shrugged it off. "Kanetsu, since you are out of a place to stay, you will now stay in his apartment." She said, pointing to Kakashi. "And that's an order."
At last, Kakashi looked up from his book in shock at her announcement.
"W-what?" He said. It's not like he ever lived with anyone before, and he preferred it that way. Kanetsu looked over at him, and the two made eye contact. K-kakashi?!' She thought. I have to stay with him!? Unknowingly, she blushed.
A few moments later, they were shooed out of Tsunade's office, and basically forced to go home.
