Kanetsu was beginning to fall asleep, as she expected. It was another one of those cold summer nights. But, for the first time today, she actually felt warm. When it was warm, she would fall asleep very quickly.
Kanetsu, as usual, blushed underneath Kakashi's gentle touch. By now, she was dozing off to sleep. “...I love you too, Kaka.” She whispered back to him. Kanetsu kissed him on the cheek, and shortly after fell asleep.

Kakashi let himself wander off in his thoughts. As he lost conciousness, he thought about his team. What it had been through, and what awaits it. He hugged her tightly, and as sleep overcame him, his grip fell.

While she was asleep, Kanetsu was in the middle of a dream. It wasn't much of a dream, more like some sort of nightmare. People were running everywhere. Hidden Leaf Ninja were taking on many enemies, ones that Kanetsu couldn't identify through her dream. Most of the village lied in ruins now. Many were dead. Dreams shattered, lives taken by this force. A force which no body had seen coming. Not just blood thirtsty, but a large thirst for power too. Kanetsu saw herself falling from the sky, the world turning black and white as she got closer. More and more people died as she continued her fall. She had finally figured out what this had meant.
Another disaster. More deaths.
And it was all her fault.
((I'm skipping to the next morning))
Kanetsu had awoken the next morning, still half-asleep. She had just recalled her dream...her nightmare. Another one of those dreams were everything happened because of her existence. These kind of dreams happened regularly, ever since her parents' death. Nothing would make this kind of pain go away. Nothing would make these recurring nightmares fade away.
Or so she thought. Maybe there was one person who could make it go away...
Kanetsu just hoped she didn't wake him up by screaming or something during her dream.

((BTW, I have a plan to have Ruby spend the night with Alastr, and wake up screaming, with a similar dream, involving Violet.))
Kakashi's eyes flew open. He was in a cold night sweat.
"Kanetsu!" She was still by his side. He hugged her tighty, and caressed her body, telling her that it was alright, whether on not she was awake. He seemed to do this repeatedly everytime she screamed throughout the night.
In the morning, Kakashi woke up, looking at Kanetsu. He saw that she was awake. Or at least her eyes were open.
"Kanetsu...you were having a nightmare...weren't you...?"

Kanetsu sighed.
“Yeah...It happens alot. There isn't really anything I can do about it.” She started. “It's been happening since...my parents died. It got even worse when the Inuzukas and Kouseki-sensei were killed, too. I thought that they were linked to Burakku, and they would go away once he died.” She continued. “But appearently, they aren't going to ever stop...” Kanetsu trailed off. Her hair was really messed up, as it usually was in the morning. It was probably about 10:30 or so. Kanetsu could tell because the sky looked so gloomy today. “All of my dreams...they're all related to one specific idea...that my existence causes everyone to die.”

"Kanetsu...it's not your fault..." Kakashi said. He smiled. "They want you to die...I know it's a grim subject, but that's how it is in the ninja world...They make it seem like...like you are the reason why everyone dies...but they do it on purpose...sometimes they can even use you as an excuse for their death...and it could be for some other reason..." He said. All of this was grim for Kakashi to tell...but he did tell anyway.

“That could be true...” She sighed. “But don't you think it would be a bit safer around here if I was dead? If all traces of myself were just washed away? If I had never even existed to begin with...?” Kanetsu trailed off. “All of those people would still be alive right now if I wasn't alive. They're all after my Kekkei Genkai inside of me. They killed them because they wanted me to train my eyes. And then strike me down when I was weakest. Because of my association with them, they were killed.” She continued. “As long as I continue to live...others will die.”

"Kanetsu...even if you had never existed, they would have been after someone else, just as much as they are you...and if they didn't exist, then they'd be after someone else, and so on. It's the grim reality of this world is that being a ninja, or even a regular person, takes grief." He said. "People would die just the same."

“...I guess that's somewhat true. But even so, I've mastered mine. Why is that? Because they pushed me to the edge. Because I had no other choice. Because it's possible that my Byakugan is the best in history.” She said. “They knew that, and therefore, targeted me. The Zetsumeis' wouldn't have wasted so much time waiting for someone else. They would have killed the person and left. No one else involved. They took precautions with me, making sure I pushed myself to master it. Those precautions are death of people around me.” She continued. “Because of myself, I became a lost cause. I had my destiny, my own fate snatched from me. Useless...a waste of space...”

Kanetsu stayed quiet. She took a moment to take all of this into her enigmatic mind.
"Have I been focusing my entire life on just hating myself?" She thought. "No. I caused all of this...but if I would have destroyed them sooner, would I have not suffered as much?" Kanetsu argued with herself. She was giving herself a headache.
"...I don't know think that I know who I am anymore...I don't know who I've always been...I really did turn myself into a waste of space..." She whispered silently.

"No matter what, I'll never think you're a waste of space." Kakashi said. He kissed her lips, and pulled his mask up. His headband was on a little sidetable nearby. He took it, covering his sharingan. He hugged Kanetsu, and didn't want to let go...

Kanetsu hugged him back tightly, but not before fixing her hair back into it's original state. She loved the feeling of just being there, in his arms. Being loved by the person you loved in return... it made Kanetsu feel... not so useless. Maybe her destiny was modified? She didn't know. There was two things she was definitely sure of at this moment. One, she absolutely loved Kakashi, and she always would. And two...
"Kakashi...I don't have a good feeling about today."
