"Screw emotions, I live as an enigma."
Don't you ever wonder about one's past? If some sort of past event changed who they were, but at the same time kept them the same? You look at that person and automatically reject them, not even bothering to look past their appearance to see who they really are. Maybe if you bothered to see their true personality...feel their terrible past...you'd understand why they choose to hide their emotions from the world...choose to be reckless... Some people are just different...

"Mother! Father! I finished my drills!" The voice of a young kunoichi echoed throughout the Hyuga compound. Sweat stung her eyes, and those same sweaty fluids where also spread out on her face, dripping, almost cascading down her face like a gentle rainfall. It obviously didn't help that the sun was beating down upon her entire body. That only increased the amount of perspiration coming off of her skin. Although it was very sunny and only partly cloudy at the time, one could clearly see an ominous, army-like amount of overcast clouds rising from the mid-day horizon. It was very easy to tell that these dark clouds would carry a large rainstorm, and it would probably be in Konoha by nightfall. As one could imagine, lightning and thunder would be present during the storm, you could tell just by taking a short glance at the gray puffs of cotton in the noon skies. These clouds didn't look right though. They looked terrible---like the kind of terrible that ruined lives. Some may have noticed this, while the Hyuga girl did not. She was just too young---too inexperienced. Others were just having a good, sunny day. But the day would be noticed soon enough. The little kunoichi's name was Kanetsu Hyuga. Only seven years of age, she was almost a full-fledged kunoichi. In a matter of a few days, she'd be a genin of the Hidden Leaf, her village, her home. It was incredible to be such a genius ninja at such an age, especially for a kunoichi. The only female ninja who had advanced faster in the ninja arts would probably be Tsunade, one of the three legendary Sannin trained by Hiruzen Sarutobi. Her parents---Hosaki and Kyuka Hyuga--were so proud of their little girl. They were fantastic ninja in their own right, being one of the best tag teams in the Land of Fire. Being high-level jounin, their skills were already very impressive. But once they had their Byakugans activated, they were pretty much on a Sannin level. Kanetsu had just finished her daily drills. It basically consisted of palm strikes, punches, kicks, and various other forms of Taijutsu. She had already learned how to use her Byakugan effectively. Also, she basically mastered the Eight Trigrams Sixty-Four Palms and the Eight Trigrams Palm Rotation. And her Gentle Fist skills were fantastic to boot. Kyuka walked outside, and approached the area where her daughter trained. Smiling, she crouched down to her level. "You've done so well! Great job!" She whispered to the young kunoichi. "Come on inside for some lunch!" Kanetsu beamed excitedly. Her mouth watered just thinking about all the delicious foods her mother would lay out during lunch. Fresh, warm, steamy foods they were, and the entire family---Hosaki, Kyuka, and Kanetsu--- would sit down at the table and enjoy their food while speaking about events in their life, such as what Kanetsu did in the Academy. Kanetsu, although exhausted, ran inside, and took a seat next to her father. Not long after, Kyuka came inside aswell and sat down. While beginning to eat, Hosaki smiled at Kanetsu. "Finished already? That's great." He told her, feeling very proud. Kyuka nodded at her husband. "Doesn't it seem like she gets a little faster everyday?" She spoke, referring to the drills. "It does." He patted Kanetsu's head, still smiling. This whole time, Kanetsu was eating her lunch, somewhat starving since she used almost all of her energy training. "Mother, this is so good!" She commented, still eating. Though she waited to speak until her mouth was empty. "She's right. This is delicious." Hosaki agreed. She smiled. "Thank you. It's nice to hear once in a while." She spoke, happy about the compliments. They ate their lunches while having conversations, even after they finished they still spoke to each other. "Really?" Kyuka laughed softly. "That's hilarious." Hosaki stated, joining in on the laughter. "Uh-huh! Then he fell out of his chair!" Little Kanetsu added to the conversation. The family continued to laugh together. It was actually quite a while past lunch at this point, but that did not matter. What mattered was that they were together, laughing as a family.
"Good night, Kanetsu." Kyuka whispered softly to her now sleeping daughter. Hosaki patted her head as she breathed quietly. They both walked out of her bedroom, and quietly shut the door. Hosaki opened their bedroom door. "After you." He said, smiling. Kyuka blushed at him. "Thank you..." She said quietly. Hosaki walked through right after her. "Ah, I love that innocence of yours." He replied, wrapping his arms around her waist from behind. She immediately turned around and looked at him, the very same blush that he caused still on her face. "Damnit, Hosaki!" She scolded him quietly. "You don't want to wake up Kanetsu, do you? Especially if she wakes up and hears you talking like that!" He chuckled a little at her. Kyuka stared straight at him, the look in her eyes basically screaming out 'You are a moron...'. "And what is so funny about that? I'm being serious, Hosaki!" She exclaimed, but not loud enough to awake Kanetsu. "It's just..." He hesitated for a slight second to begin laughing once more. "It's just that you're overreacting. Kanetsu sleeps like a brick wall. You can pretty much do anything, but she won't wake up." Hosaki explained. "I think she gets it from you, too." He smirked. Kyuka stared at him, slightly irritated for a second, but then she just rolled her eyes and laughed. "I guess so." She replied, as Hosaki smiled at her. At about midnight, after everyone had gone to sleep, an eerie force made it's presence known in the Hyuga territory. It's dark, evil laugh hissed quietly as it stepped out from the darkness of the trees in the area. The destructive force turned out to be human, but this wasn't any normal person. This thing had such shadow-like presence, that if you couldn't see it with your own eyes, you would just immediately think that this was some evil creature. Technically, this man was an evil creature. And he was damn proud of it, too. His name was Burakku Zetsumei.

"It's time to get this show on the road..." He whispered to himself, smirking. The sound of metal clinging filled the air as Burakku unsheathed his deadly katana. Laughing, he repeatedly slid his hand along the blade. After a mere second, his hand sustained a cut. Not one that was particularly terrible, but it there was blood dripping to the ground nonetheless. Burakku only smiled in a twisted way at the sight of the liquid crimson dripping slowly out of his own hand. He didn't really care about it. In fact, he saw it as a preview of sorts. A preview of the events that would take place later. But there would be a major difference in bloodshed between his hand now, and the people he was about to slaughter in--well, according to Burakku's calculations--exactly five minutes. He didn't even have to hide; he literally walked into the Hyuga territory, slaughtering everyone who got in his way of his goal that night. Although, Hyugas were the main victim that night, and there were only more about to be killed. His fashion of killing was to destroy with no mercy, no remorse. Sometimes, if he felt like he was in the mood for it, he would even torture his opponents for hours, and occasionally days. As quick as he entered, the real fun began. Well, not quite. He killed a few branch house Hyuga on the way to a certain Hyuga's house. He smirked as he started to think all of the twisted things he could do once he got there, and all of the ways he could tear those precious eyes out of their sockets. Abruptly, he frowned as he remembered that he couldn't harm the eyes if he wanted to extract their powers. "Damn, that means less fun for me." Burakku mumbled as he carelessly sliced another unsuspecting Hyuga's chest. When Burakku thought he had killed enough Hyuga (which was almost impossible, considering that killing was like a hobby for him), he sauntered over to were the location of his goal was. "Heh...Hosaki and Kyuka Hyuga's house..." He mumbled to himself with a smirk. "I've been waiting to do this for such a long time..." He didn't even care about being sneaky, he was far too cocky for that. His plan was to simply walk in, and whether they noticed him or not, he would brutally slaughter them and take their eyes for himself. Whenever he thought about his plan, he would share a little chuckle with himself, and smirk. And that included that moment he stood there in front of their door, ready to plow his way in. "Let's get this party started..."
Suddenly, a gigantic boom! was heard at the front door. Both Hosaki and Kyuka immediately jumped up from the comfort of their bed. They had activated their respective Byakugans in an instant, searching the house for the source of the noise. At the same time, the both used their enhanced field of vision to not only do that, but to check on their daughter. Although Kanetsu slept like a brick wall, the loud explosion did awake her. She, like her parents, jolted up with worry, and activated her clan's Kekkei Genkai. Her's wasn't yet at the levels of her mother and father, but it was still stronger than it should have been for someone her age. Every normal seven year old would have screamed and ran to their parents at that moment. But not a ninja. Not Kanetsu. She slowly but quietly opened her door, sticking her head out the door just a little to see what was going on. It all happened in a matter seconds. Hosaki was thrown against the wall, half-knocked out. Kyuka was being choked and strangled by the Zetsumei. He had her in only one of his hands with ease, while somehow managing to keep Hosaki away by just giving him hard punches. He did get in some critical hits with his palm strikes, while Kyuka kicked him so hard in the face he spun. But it still wasn't enough. Burakku smirked as he used a lightning jutsu to strike the house, and start it on fire. The Hyuga twosome both used a Rotation to repel it from hitting them, but they couldn't stop it from hitting the house. Little Kanetsu watched in shock as flames ingulfed her entire home, as it seemed like everything she knew burned away with it. Hosaki and Kyuka both stuck a nicely executed Gentle Fist strike to Burakku, and sent him into a wall that nearly broke. It was already weakened by the burning of the structure. As he got up, he realized that it was not just him and the two other Hyuga. Burakku smiled twistedly as he was hit with the revelation. He had now decided he had a change of plans. "Lighting Release: Thunder Cloud Inner Wave!" He declared, thunderclouds and lightning surrounding him. It protected him aswell as attacked. So at that very moment, he attacked the only one who hadn't been physically injured yet; Kanetsu. She had seen it coming, since she was trained to figure out those types of attacks and defend immediately. She used her Rotation, but Kanetsu soon found her defense waring down as the lightning still attacked persistently. She couldn't rotate forever, at least not at her age if such a thing was even possible. Soon, she knew continuing would exhaust all of her chakra, and she would just have to quickly find some way to avoid it. Stopping the rotation, she swiftly backflipped several times in a flash, but the lightning kept following. She didn't have much strength left, so she couldn't rotate anymore. Suddenly, Burakku appeared behind her, and grabbed her by the face. He somehow halted the lightning attack. "N-no!" Kyuka exclaimed. "Let her go now!" Hosaki yelled as he gritted his teeth harder than ever. Burakku smirked. "Hmm...no." Lightning flashed within an instant behind the two, and they couldn't do anything about it in time. If they would have dodged it more, it would have went straight for Kanetsu. A tear fell from the little Hyuga's eye as she saw the most disturbing sight in her entire life so far. Her parents were being fried by the lightning bolt. As it finally stopped, Kanetsu could have swore her heart did as well. They both fell to the ground, not a single movement afterwards. Swords clinked on the ground. Burakku loosened his hold intentionally on Kanetsu as she ran over to her parents as fast as a ninja could possibly run. Immediately, she dropped to the ground and looked at the damage the evil man had caused. They were burned by the fire, electrocuted, and had big cuts and gashes everywhere. Blood was splattered on certain areas on there body, and a fairly large amount of it was all over the still burning house. Burakku laughed in a sick way. "Hmph...females, especially little insignificant ones like you, shouldn't even be ninja. They should just stay home and do something halfway useful...Women are too weak." He told her as she was still cringing from the tears and pain that she was in at that moment. "You see this?" He pointed at her demolished parents. "You caused this. Because of you. If you weren't ever born, they would still be here. Look at all of this pain, suffering, and death you caused." Suddenly, he laughed again. "I guess I should be going...For now, I'll leave you with pain and sorrow to drown you and destroy you slowly. But, that won't be enough. Once you have truly been tortured enough...your Byakugan will be mine!" He whispered dementedly. "K-Kanetsu..." A familiar voice echoed in the burning room. "O-Our K-katana..." Hosaki barely managed to whimper as Kyuka finished with, "p-please...take t-them..." Kanetsu softly took their katana off the ground, the flames of the fire casting a slight shine on them. "Mother, Father...I..." She tried to get out, but couldn't due to her continuous crying. "We L-love you..." And that was all they could get out, before the familiar life in their eyes was gone forever. "N-no..." Kanetsu whispered to no one as she laid over their lifeless bodies. Suddenly, voices in the background could be heard. "Hey, they're still in here!" One said. "Get them out then!" The other yelled. Kanetsu felt a man's hands try to pull her out of the fiery house. It was about to collapse. "N-no..!" Her whisper became louder. "She won't move!" The voice called out. "Then force her to." The other responded. Kanetsu felt a man dragging her out of the inferno as she looked up with salty tears stinging her eyes to see ashes flying everywhere, black puffs of smoke making it hard to breathe. "Got her." The one who had her told someone. "Good. I will trust you to take her to my home. She can get medical attention there." The second voice spoke once more. He nodded at him. As Kanetsu opened her eyes for the last time that night, she realized who the figures where. It was just Hiashi and Hizashi, not anymore evil ninja. "Why..." Was the last thing she said before losing consciousness.
