Katio sat alone in the classroom, grumbling to himself. Apparently his temper had gotten him in trouble once again. It wasn't his fault that the kid had tried to steal his lunch! Okay, that wasn't how it went down at all, and everyone knew it, but it was the story Kaito had stuck too. In reality, the entire scuffle was over the child knocking over Kaito's drink, which set off the always on edge child. A couple of blows later, and the kid got to go home early, while Kaito got stuck with a talking to and detention.
"This is boring," Kaito muttered to himself, finally lifting himself off his chair and walking around the classroom. Sure, he could attempt to leave, but if the teacher caught him on his way home... no, Kaito could survive a few hours stuck in the classroom. He wasn't going to enjoy it, but he could survive it. He just wished something, anything would happen to make this entire ordeal get easier, or at least more interesting.

Kohaku ran in the halls of the academy trying to escape the two ninjas that was chasing him. He loved to play tricks and pull stunts that usually got him in trouble but thanks to his size it was easier for him to escape. The red hair boy looked behind him to see that the other two ninjas still wasn't giving up and was still trying to catch him.
He feet was getting tired so he knew that he would have to try and find some place that he could find until they give up trying to find him. Kohaku turned the corner and the first door that he saw was the detention room and knew that he would have to hide there or get caught. He quickly opened the door and slipped inside and closed the door just in time to hear the ninjas run by the room. He looked around the room and saw another boy sitting in a desk. "You mind if I hide out in here?"

Kaito glanced over at the boy who had barged into the room. The red haired boy was a little shorter than he was, but he looked like he had more weight to him. Not fat by any means, but more filled out than Kaito. Almost immediately Kaito pegged him as some sort of prankster. After all, this kid was still running around after school and asking to hide empty classrooms. Kaito’s first instinct was to try to kick the kid out, since he had the gall to come in and try to get help from him. However, he realized if this boy was trying to hide, then he was running from someone or something. This meant possible excitement.
“Alright,” Kaito let out with a sigh, “but only if you promise to not annoy me.” Kaito really hoped he didn’t have to beat up another kid today, since that would probably only manage to get him in more trouble. Still, if this kid bothered him, he wouldn’t be afraid to knock some sense into him… not that Kaito actually knew what that phrase meant, he had just heard his father use it once or twice.

Kana sat quietly in the corner of the room. She wasn't in for detention, but rather she had stayed to do her homework. Sometimes, she would hang around open, empty classrooms and take temporary residence in a corner table to quietly finish work. Today, she had her head buried in a book about ninja techniques. She looked over the edge of her book as she heard clamor with her sensitive cat ears.
The bright brown eyes watched the two boys. She knew one of them was in for detention. She usually watched this boy carefully, as she took great interest in him. Despite his temperamental personality she still found interest in him. The other seemed to be making trouble. A prankster. A small smile crept on her face as she watched the two make commotion. She began to watch with newfound interest at what would possibly happen between these two.

Kohaku knew that the other boy was annoyed by him. He then spotted a girl who for some reason that he got the feeling she wasn't here for detention. He walked over to a seat that was far away from the other boy and sat down. He may be a prankster but he didn't go around and caused fights for no good reason. The red haired ninja leaned back into his seat and lifted his small legs on the desk. Kohaku had no idea how long he would hide out in here but he wanted to be as comfortable as he could.

Kaito snorted as the other kids took a seat. At least he had a good head on his shoulders, challenging Kaito probably would have ended with one or both of them seriously injured. Still, that didn’t stop Kaito from being a little disappointed. He wanted excitement, confrontations, witty banter… okay, maybe not that last one. Kaito was not one for wit. Still, none of these were available to him if the kids just sat down without saying anything. Maybe Kaito’s reputation had started preceding him. Either way Kaito shook his head as he continued looking around the room for something to do.
Kaito’s eyes soon fell upon the girl in the back of the class, which caused him to jump a little in shock. He wasn’t used to people sneaking up on him, or hiding out in the back of classrooms. He would be lying if he said he wasn’t a little scared of the girl who had managed to hide from him for who knows how long, though he recomposed himself quickly. He did notice she seemed to be staring at him and the other boy, though she had so far stayed quiet. “Whatcha lookin’ at?” he said as calmly at he could.

Kana's eyes fell down in disbelief as nothing happened between the two boys, however her eyes fell upon Katio once more. Her pupils narrowed as she heard Katio speak to her. She closed the book, having memorized where she left off, and laid it gently on the table. "You," she spoke softly, however she then spoke up, "I was watching to see if you would make anything interesting like you usually do. Like you did earlier today."
A smile crept on Kana's face as she perked her cat ears up. "Can I help you?" she asked, her voice dropping back down. Her voice was still clearly audible, however, in the quietness of the room. Her pupils had dilated to their original size to match the lighting of the room as they were previously.

Interesting? Kaito had been told his behavior was many things. Disruptive, rude, annoying, inexcusable, but interesting? He was noticeably taken aback by the statement, his mind unable to think of a reply quickly, causing several seconds of awkward silence to go by, followed by the genius “Ummmm… well… ahhh.” This was indeed not young ninja finest moment, and he knew that. At first, he was confused, but then he felt small and weak, like this girl thought she was better than him, smarter than him cause he was caught unaware. Then came the rage. How dare this girl look down on him! Who did she think she was?
“ARE YA MAKING FUN OF ME!” Kaito shouted, stomping his little feet in anger. Not the most mature response, in fact it was downright childish, but in all honesty it was to be expected. Why, it was weird for him to not have lunged at her, though the fact that she was at the back of the classroom probably helped with that. And... maybe he was still a little worried about the whole, being in the room without him knowing thing.

A smile crept onto Kana's face. She stood unnerved by Katio's actions. Her eyes watched him intently as she slowly stood up, and giggled quietly. "Not at all. Oh, no, not at all Katio," she said, in her soft voice, "I just really...like your interesting behavior. Puts something worth watching in these boring classes." She stepped out into the aisle and leaned back onto the wall. Her mind was racing with thoughts, trying to figure out decent words to speak.
"Why, do you intend to lunge at me? Try that, and it won't work," she said, her tail twitching a bit. Her eyes were well trained on his movements. Of course, she wasn't trying to mock or anger him. In fact, she was just trying to be as friendly as she could to the boy, in a way that suited her mood. She was just quite bored. She loosely crossed her arms in habit, and tapped her claws against her elbow.
One thought then crossed her mind. She was hungry. Her stomach growl had verified that thought. She let out a sigh as she felt it nag at her.

“HMPF!” replied Kaito, still angry as he made his way back to his chair and sat down. Even with his back to her, he crossed his arms in defiance. Well, in his mind it was defiance, it seemed to be more of him just being an angry child. There was honestly no correct answer that would have calmed him down, he just needed to tough it out for a little while. He grumbled to himself under his breath, shifting a little bit as if to get comfortable, before sliding forward in order to slouch. He honestly didn’t even look like a ten year old anymore, just a bratty pre-schooler who was denied cookies.
And then he heard her stomach growl. Sure, he didn’t respond at first, but it quickly began to eat at him. He glanced down at the bento box he had brought for lunch. It was only half eaten at this point, due to the whole lunch fiasco, and he had no plans of finishing it. He suddenly reached down and picked it up, holding it out to his side, right in the middle of the aisle. “HERE! TAKE IT” he shouted, not even turning his head to look at her, “ITS NO GOOD WITHOUT A DRINK ANYWAYS!”

"You know, Katio...I, er...was gonna ask you something...I mean...you don't have to offer me that...I had an alternative in mind, f-for...the both of us..." Kana said with a sudden quietness. Her gaze had softened a bit more than it had previously was, her face losing the teasing expression. She began to hope he wouldn't refuse, since it took her that much effort to say the words she just said. Her tail still twitched time to time, but overall, Kana was more serious.
She watched the back of Katio's unturned head as she waited for an answer. The biggest part of not wanting her invitation rejected, was the fact that she indeed wanted someone to be with for the afternoon. Even more so, the boy she had a crush on. She was otherwise destined to spend the afternoon by herself.

Katio’s ears perked as this girl’s demeanor completely changed, suddenly stuttering as she spoke to him. He wasn’t quite sure what to make of it and thus didn’t know how to respond. However, he could piece together what she was saying. She clearly wanted to get out of here, and had to be offering him away out of the classroom. That was… GREAT! Katio found a way out of his punishment, which meant he could run rampant on the streets of Konoha, and if he was caught he could blame the girl. It was perfect.
“OF COURSE!” replied Kaito, unable to hide his glee, “JUST LEAD THE WAY!”

In a flash, she was suddenly in front of him, and grabbed his ear and twisted it. Hard. "Pull any funny business, any boy you'll be in a world of pain greater than this!" she muttered through her teeth. She let go. She then went to the window. She opened it, and jumped out. "Come on!"

Kaito grabbed his ear after Kana let go, gingerly cups his hand around it. He could still feel it ringing, even after he had released it and followed her out the window. It was needless to say that Kaito was a little worried now, perhaps regretting his choice a little now. However, the call to the escape of that hell call detention was stronger than anything like fear. Besides, she didn’t look all that threatening. Hell, she was even kinda cute. Still, desire to escape and cause havoc was taking over any other instincts he had. Now hs just had to find a time to escape.

She led him across the roofs of certain buildings, going along with the stealth of a cat. She checked back every now and then to make sure Kaito was following her. When they were a good distance from the academy, she dropped down from a roof onto the streets. She was at Ichiraku's. "All right Kaito. This is it. We're gonna follow that delivery," she pointed at the man who carried a delivery of ramen, "and jack the food! Sound good?" She looked at Kaito for his consent. Kana seemed quite innocent, yes, but she did have a knack for getting into trouble every now and then. Only natural.
