Kaito followed the girl closely, always eyeing for a way to dart off on his own. The cold night air blasted against he jumped from roof to roof. Despite his experience with traveling across roof tops, he would be lying if he said there he didn’t feel a childlike glee from the wind whipping against his face. His eye glistened as they darted from side to side, a smile plastered on his face. Well, that is, till he followed Kana to the streets, at which point the just stared at the restaurant they stood in front of. Ichiraku’s, the last time Kaito went there was with his brother.
“Huh? What? Yeah. Sounds like fun.” Kaito said absentmindedly, his mind wandering back to the days when his brother and Chi-san would bring him here after training. Of course, this was before his brother launched his master plan, slaughtering the poor girl and leaving Kaito to fend for himself. He hadn’t been here since his brother’s defection, too angry at the feeling hsi memories evoked when he was around this building.

Kana quietly followed the deliveryman, already leaving the restaurant behind. She beckoned Kaito to follow her down the street. Kana never really ate at the restaurant, preferring to simply hijack the deliveryman. It was one of those things she was committed to doing. A naughty, childish thing.
However, she noticed the half-heartiness in Kaito's voice. She stopped where she was, and looked at him. She could see a sense of trouble in his eyes. "Kaito? Are you okay? We could go somewhere else...if you want," she said, not exactly sure what it could be that troubled him. But she assumed it had to do with Ichiraku's from the way he stared at it. She dropped that face of mischievousness, and just waited for Kaito to make a decision.

“Huh?” Kaito said, being awoken from his dream-like state. “No, no, here is fine… it just… do you might if we go inside to eat. It has been a long time since I had a bowl of ramen, and I would like it to be as fresh as possible!’ He said sheepishly after a moment, grinning widely at Kana, while scratching the back of his head. He felt bad for lying to the girl, but he didn’t want to talk about his brother right now. No, he just wanted to have a bowl of ramen and reminisce, was that so wrong? Well, it didn’t make him feel like less of a jerk for lying, but he could live with that. He was just hoping she wouldn’t see right through him.

She narrowed her pupils at him. She could tell by the look in his eyes that he was troubled. But seeing him trying to cover it up, she knew well enough that it could be something he didn't want to talk about; she wouldn't push the issue. Her face made an expression of slight curiosity and worried-ness for his issue, and she was positive he knew she seen something had bothered him, but she just smiled afterward. "Okay. I'll pay then," she told him, taking a finger of his and pulling him with her inside. The smell of hot, fresh ramen wetted her senses. Her mouth watered, and she slightly opened her mouth to taste the deliciousness in the air. She thought for a moment what flavor of ramen she would get.

Kaito smiled as he was pulled into the ramen shop, the familiar smell causing his mouth to water almost immediately. He could remember exactly where everything was, almost as if he had come in yesterday. The seats, the bar, everything was just as he had left it. He wouldn't want to admit it, but everything about this place made him forget what his brother had done, about how he now struggled to control his temper, and brought him back to a time where the worst problem he had was scraping his knee during training.
Kaito turned towards Kana and gave her a soft smile. "Thank you for doing this," he told her.

She smiled softly and whispered, "You're welcome, Kaito..." She ordered herself a regular bowl of ramen. When it was served, it was nice, hot, and steamy. The scent wafted all around her, and she smiled at the simple delicacy. She sat, and beckoned Kaito to sit next to her. She waited for him to order and eat before she began to eat.

Katsu nodded and took a seat next to Kana, smiling in silence for a moment before loudly proclaiming, “the usual please!” He sat there for a little bite before it dawned on him that he hadn’t been here in such a long time, and the cooks probably didn’t remember him. His mind raced as he tilted his head towards the ground, trying to think of something to say to take back what he had said. It became even harder to think when his cheeks began to burn, blushing from something so trivial. “I’ll…I’ll have what she is having,” he finally managed to mutter out, his voice wavering a little.

Kaito's bowl was served. Kana smiled at him. "Eat up, it's fresh!" she said good-naturedly. She picked up her pair of chopsticks, and mixed the vegetables into the noodles, making more steam appear. She grinned as the scent grew stronger. She had memories of when her parents first introduced her to the delicacy. She was only four at the time, but she could remember everything as clear as daylight; sight, smell, touch, taste, and sound. Steaming noodles, mouth watering broth, hot to order, wonderful flavor, and the sounds of the kichen. She loved this place. After school or training, this was a hotspot for her.

Kaito was still a little embarrassed from before, and just started to dig into his bowl of ramen. It was almost as if he was burying his face in the bowl, trying to hide it as thought raced through his mind. He wasn’t sure what he expected by coming here. Yes, the food was delicious, but he knew the reason was more than that. Was he trying to relive memories? Build new ones? Why did he come here with… would he call Kana a friend? He had only really spoken to her today, but she seemed nice. Well, nice enough to buy him ramen at least. He guessed that made her his friend… his first friend in awhile at that.
Gah! He hated thinking like this. He found thing much easier when he could solve them by hitting them. He could just shut his brain off and let instinct guide him.

Kana dug into her bowl. She didn't eat like a maniac, however, she still ate quite fast. She enjoyed the hot food, savoring every bite bit by bit. She wondered what would happen after. She hoped Kaito would not run off. If he did, she would follow and prevent his mischeif for the day. Other than that, she really did not have a clue on what to do.

Kaito kept eating in silence, unsure of what to do. Suddenly he put his bowl down and muttered out, just loud enough for Kana to hear, “Thank you for this. Sorry I am not good company… I…I am no good with people anymore…” Gah, he didn’t even know what he was saying anymore, but it felt appropriate for him to say. After all, he dragged her in here, and then just sort of sat there in silence. She had to have been bored with him, or annoyed, or angry. He didn’t know exactly how she was feeling, but he assumed it couldn’t have been good.

Kana smiled. She did a slight nod at Kaito, "You're welcome...Kaito... It really isn't a problem," she said, looking down, "I hardly get to hang out with anyone at all...I usually spend my time alone." Her tone had darkened slightly, but she then spoke up, "But I really, really enjoyed your company, despite the quiet. I don't have much to say, because...well I feel awkward, honestly..." She finished her bowl up and passed it to the server to be cleaned. She paid the bill of two bowls, and hopped off the stool. She noticed that much time had passed than it really seemed. The sun was beginning to set, the sky beginning to fade to an orange shade. She then turned to Kaito. "Do you...do you want to join me tonight? I mean, I wanna show you a special place where I spend all my time alone. If you want to come, I'll gladly show you." She smiled warmly and invitingly, "If you don't have any plans this evening."

Kaito was glad to hear that he wasn't the only one feel awkward. He felt himself blush a little as he ate, leading to him trying to hide it with his bowl. He hadn't even noticed the time passing, After the two had finished and Kana paid, Kaito followed the young girl outside, where he was a little surprised at the setting sun. He really should go back home and train, after all, he wasn't going to catch up with his brother if he didn't.
"Do you...do you want to join me tonight? I mean, I wanna show you a special place where I spend all my time alone. If you want to come, I'll gladly show you."
Now he was torn. She was asking him to go with her, something no one did anymore. But he needed to practice, he had drills to do. he would just need to tell her that another time would be better. Yeah, that could work, he could come over on the weekend or something. He just had to speak up and...
"If you don't have any plans this evening."
"I am free!", Kaito replied, the words shooting out of his mouth like a cannon. "I would love to see this special place!"
'Well', he thought as soon as the word left his mouth, 'there is no way this is gonna end well for me.'

Kana smiled. She took his hand, and slowly began to lead him off. "It's this way." She let go off his hand and began to run toward her new destination. "Catch me if you can!" she taunted, feeling happy Kaito accepted her offer. The moon was due to rise in the horizon real soon. Once they were in her little area, she would show him the beauty of the moon on the horizon. Tonight, a full moon was due. They were in luck, and Kana made sure to take advantage.

Kaito smiled as he ran after her, letting the wind whip against his face as he did. He could have tried to catch her, he even believed he could do it. However, he had no idea where this girl was going, and he was intrigued. No, he would continue to play follow the leader with this girl. After all, she hadn't let him down yet.
